New Ainol Novo 7 Aurora Gets 1.2Ghz CPU $65?

Saturday, 10 March 2012

42 New Ainol Novo 7 Aurora Gets 1.2Ghz CPU $65?Ainol have been a little quiet of late, after shocking the electronics world by releasing the worlds first Android 4.0 tabletslate last year and at prices just about $100!
Now, they are back and with an all new version of the popular Ainol Novo 7 series device.
The latest version of the Ainol Novo 7 named the Aurora, follows the same tried and tested Ainol formula, meaning you are getting a 7 inch Android 4.0 tablet at a low price, but this time with an new processor.
Ainol have decided to make use of the new Allwinner A10 CPU for the Aurora, which is a low cost, high performance 1.2Ghz unit. They have also given the Ainol Aurora a healthy 1GB RAM, 2 mega pixel front camera, Wi-Fi etc.

What is missing on the Ainol Novo 7 Aurora is a rear camera and 3G, but the lack of these parts suggests a retail price of less than $100, and could actually see the little tablet selling for $65!

News : Android 4.0 update for Galaxy S II said to arrive on March 15

Monday, 5 March 2012

The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S II has been a long time coming but it seems that the wait is soon to get over. Although Samsung did earlier mention that the S II, along with a few other Samsung devices will be getting the update sometime in March, it did not provide the actual date.
Now, however, a Samsung importer in Isreal called Sunny Communications have revealed on its Facebook page that the update will arrive on March 15, just over a week from today. Here is the translated quite from Facebook:
We promised that we're working on it. You waited patiently. On 15 March it comes: the Android version 4, ICS, tens of thousands of the devices purchased GALAXY SII cellular companies in the country or directly from us. We here are very excited for the launch, hope you :)
This does not mean, however, that all Galaxy S II devices will get the update on March 15. Some may get it later or probably, some may even get it sooner, with the date mentioned above probably being only for the Israeli market. Either way, you won't be having to wait too long now.

Rockchip introduces RK30xx chips for low-cost tablets

Thursday, 1 March 2012

Chinese chip maker Rockchip has unveiled its next-generation line of ARM-based processors for inexpensive tablets.

Rockchip tabletsThe Rockchip RK30xx processor is an ARM Cortex-A9 dual core chip which can run at speeds up to 1.4 GHz. It includes Mali-400 graphics and can support OpenGL graphics, 1080p HD video playback, HDMI output, and be able to handle dual-display setups.
Rockchip will begin offering samples to hardware partners in March, which means we could start to see tablets with the new processors later this year.
While Rockchip isn’t exactly a household name in the US, the company showed off more than 2 dozen Chinese tablets, portable media players, and related devices at CES this year.
Each was powered by the company’s earlier chips including the 1.2 Ghz RK2918 processor, and many of the tablets were running Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
