I ask you please then, to remove it from your builds. I can offer you this opensource alternative found on our ics branch for Settings app:
https://github.com/ParanoidAndroid/a...tings/paranoid
You should spread the word around XDA PAC roms, as well, so all the builds remove it from the package.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

But the framework still support it, so if you still want to use PA settings, then get it somewhere else & use it at your own responsibility.
Do not put a link to ParanoidPreferences, apk in this thread !!! do it somewhere else.

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

Sony Mobile confirms 2011 Xperia devices will NOT get Jelly Bean

Friday, 19 October 2012

Sony Mobile has confirmed earlier speculation that the 2011 range of Sony Xperia devices will NOT be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Sony says that it would not be able to “guarantee owners of these smartphones the user experience you expect and we demand. We will however, continue to support all these products with firmware maintenance releases.
What we don’t understand is that we already went through this heartache before when a Sony Mobile UK employee said that these devices wouldn’t get Android 4.1. However, Sony Mobile then came out with an official statement a few days later to say that this was an error and that they were “actively investigating Android OS upgrades for all devices”. It sounds like Sony had a pretty clear idea at that moment, but what that follow-up statement did was give people hope. Now Sony can expect a backlash all over again. Very odd decision making.
Thanks Stojan!

New ICS firmware (4.1.B.0.587) certified for six 2011 Xperia phones

Thursday, 9 August 2012

Good news for those of you running 2011 Sony Xperia handsets, Sony Mobile has just certified a new Android 4.0.4 firmware update for six handsets. The new firmware version number of 4.1.B.0.587 will replace the current 4.1.B.0.431 that brought Android 4.0.4 to the 2011 Xperia range.
The lucky six handsets include the Xperia active, Xperia arc, Xperia mini pro, Xperia neo, Xperia neo V and Xperia Pro. However, we’d expect this same firmware to hit all 2011 Xperia handsets bar the Xperia PLAY. Therefore, Xperia arc S, Xperia mini and Xperia ray users shouldn’t be up in arms just yet. The reason it is not showing yet is most likely down to a delay in the certification hitting the PTCRB website. We would imagine that this update will bring mainly bug fixes. We’ll bring you more information as we have it.

Sony says Android 4.1 Jelly Bean plans for 2011 handsets were an “error”

Tuesday, 31 July 2012

Last week Sony Mobile seemed to confirm on a Facebook Q&A chat that its 2011 Xperia handsets would not be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Despite some fairly specific guidance on the matter, the Sony Mobile Product Blog is now back-tracking, saying that this information was given “in error” by “a local spokeserson”.
Sony hasn’t gone as far as confirming Jelly Bean for 2011 Sony Xperia handsets but it does say that they are “actively investigating Android OS upgrades for all devices”. Note the ‘all’ in that sentence. Given the clarification we would imagine that the Jelly Bean update may be planned for at least a few handsets, otherwise why would Sony build up hopes just to dash them again?
Interestingly, the post also talking about bringing further news on the ICS rollout for the Xperia P and other 2012 Xperia smartphones “over the next couple of weeks”. As the Xperia P has been explicitly mentioned here, this most likely points to an ICS release for the handset in the middle of August.
Here is the statement in full:
“During a Q&A session last week on our Sony Mobile GB Facebook page, a local spokesperson gave information out in error on our Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software development and rollout for 2011 Xperia smartphones.
We are actively investigating Android OS upgrades for all devices, but in the meantime, our Ice Cream Sandwich rollout for Xperia S and 2011 Xperia smartphones continues as planned.
As always, feel free to drop a question below and keep your eyes fixed on the blog, as we’ll be bringing you more on our Ice Cream Sandwich rollout for Xperia P and other 2012 Xperia smartphones over the next couple of weeks.”

Official: 2011 Sony OMG!!-Xperia handsets will NOT get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Thursday, 26 July 2012

John Cooper, UK Product Manager for Sony Mobile, has been taking questions from customers on Facebook  and, perhaps inadvertently, revealed that both the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S and Xperia mini pro will not receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update.
We have been waiting for Sony to make an official statement on their Jelly Bean upgrade plans and this is the first concrete news we have on the matter. The Xperia arc S was the highest specced 2011 Sony Xperia handset, so if this handset isn’t getting it we can conclude that none of the other Xperia handsets from the 2011 range will get the update either. However, the 2012 Xperia range do look likely to get the update, although timing remains an unknown right now.

[UPDATE] Xperia active Android 4.0 ICS update starts rolling out

Sunday, 17 June 2012

The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update has started rolling out to Sony Ericsson Xperia active handsets. The SI-numbers have not been updated yet on the official Sony Mobile Talk forums, but Xperia active users are reporting success in updating to ICS.
The Xperia active was the last 2011 Xperia waiting on the ICS update and this news now means that all Xperia handsets from 2011 are now on their way to ICS. The update moves the firmware build to version 4.1.B.0.431. This just leaves the 2012 Xperia handsets waiting on an update to Android 4.0. The Xperia S ICS update is expected within the next few weeks. The Xperia P and Xperia U ICS updates will follow in Q3 2012.
