News : Samsung unveils Galaxy S II Plus with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced today Samsung GALAXY S II Plus, which combines the performance that have made the GALAXY S II one of the world’s most recognized phones, together with nature-inspired user-interface and intuitive features that greatly boost its usability and functionality.
• The GALAXY S II Plus runs on Android™ 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) enabling faster and smoother screen transitions, and
providing an enhanced user interface featuring a new, easier-to-use notification panel. It is powered by an impressive
1.2 GHz dual core processor that enables easy multi-tasking, smooth screen transitions and superior graphics for
some of the most demanding applications and games.

• The GALAXY S II Plus’ nature-inspired user-interface is complemented with intuitive features that make the phone really
easy to use. Direct Call enables users to automatically dial a call by taking the device to the ear. Smart Stay recognizes
whether the user is looking at the screen to dim the screen accordingly; while Smart Alert lets users know about
missed events or status updates just by picking up the phone.
• The GALAXY S II Plus also sports a range of additional features that boost performance and the overall experience in
entirely new ways. Popup Video allows a video to play anywhere on the screen in a resizable pop-up window while
simultaneously running other tasks, eliminating the need to close and restart videos when checking new emails or
surfing the Web. S Voice lets users control the phone using their voice; and Voice Unlock lets users unlock the phone
using their own voice.
• A 4.3” WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display offers a generous viewing experience and enables photos captured with the
powerful 8MP camera to be enjoyed in true clarity.
• The rear camera features a zero-lag shutter speed that captures moving objects easily without delay. The innovative
‘Buddy photo share’ function also allows images to be easily and simultaneously shared with friends pictured in an
image directly from the camera or the photo gallery. Additional features include Group Facetag and Face Zoom to
deliver a complete photographic experience. The device is packed with the latest Samsung content services including
AllShare Play, which lets users share content across Samsung devices using a single account and password.

News : Samsung Galaxy S II Plus benchmark confirms CPU, GPU

Last month, some info on the Galaxy S II Plus leaked, including pictures and most of its specs. We now hear that the smartphone has taken a trip to the GLBenchmark testing fields, revealing a bit more about its internals.

The benchmark's website confirms the qHD (960×540 pixels) display, it also suggests the Galaxy S II Plus (model number I9105) will sport a 1.4GHz CPU, presumably a dual-core one. Previously we heard that the smartphone will be packing a 1.5GHz CPU, and given that the exact listed frequency is 1456 MHz, that might be what the final version of the device will actually offer.

We also learned that the GPU inside the Samsung I9105 Galaxy S II Plus (boy that's a mouthful) will be a PowerVR SGX 544MP. That's an architecture very similar to the iPad 3's GPU, but it will probably pack fewer cores here to prevent overheating issues.

Finally, the Galaxy S II Plus will be running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and that's as far as the benchmark results page is willing to tell. If anything, the fact that the S II Plus undergoes benchmarks hints it's development is nearing completion and it getting ready for an official announcement soon.

News : @Samsung Galaxy S III Mini, Samsung Galaxy S II Plus and Samsung Galaxy Premier leaked

Not everyone wants a smartphone with a 4.8inch screen. That makes things difficult for those who would love to own a Samsung Galaxy S III, but can't use such a large display because of small hands or personal preference. According to a source for SamMobile, the Korean based manufacturer has a solution with the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini. The latter will offer much of the Samsung Galaxy S IIIexperience except it will launch with a 4 inch WVGA display, smaller than the 4.8 inch 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED screen on the full sized model. The 8MP camera on the back of the Samsung Galaxy S III will be replaced with a 5MP shooter on the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini, and a dual-core processor will be under the hood. In an attempt to compete with the new Apple iPhone, the Galaxy III Mini is expected to be priced at 250 EUR ($314.50 USD) compared to a price of about 650 EUR ($817.70 USD) off contract for the 6th generation of Apple's iconic smartphone, which is rumored to have the same 4 inch screen size.

Will Samsung offer a "mini" version of the Samsung Galaxy S III?

The same source says that Samsung will also release a device called theSamsung Galaxy S II Plus. The Super AMOLED Plus screen, at 4.3 inches, is smaller than the Sprint and T-Mobile versions of the phone (4.52 inches), and equals the size of the international model and the variant offered by AT&T. A single-core processor is a step down from the dual-core version on the Samsung Galaxy S II, and an 8MP camera will be featured on back. Running on Android 4.0, the Samsung Galaxy  S II Plus will come in 16GB and 32GB models.

Lastly, the source is tipping the GT-i9260 called the Samsung Galaxy S Premier, which will be similar to the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus except for a larger 4.65 inch Super AMOLED HD display. This model will allegedly run on Android 4.1, Jelly Bean.

No pricing information or carrier availability has been leaked, but if  all this is legit, it sounds like Samsung is trying to offer a phone for every taste.

Samsung to launch Samsung Galaxy S II Plus?

Earlier today, Samsung confirmed that they dont have plans to launch a Galaxy S III, which is a bit disappointing because all of us were expecting it. Samsung is still focused on MWC, and they are preparing to introduce new devices at the event. One of those devices could be the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus.

We don't know much about this device, other than it showed up in An3DBenchXL's benchmark database, and it's packing Android 2.3.4, a WVGA display, and a 1.5 GHz CPU. The Galaxy S II features a 1.2 GHz processor, whereas the Sprint Galaxy Nexus comes with a 1.5 GHz CPU, so we're expecting the GSII Plus's processor to be the same.

We are not sure about the processor manufacturer, but I believe that it will feature Samsung's own Exynos processor. Furthermore, this device could be Samsung's customizedversion of the Galaxy Nexus, featuring TouchWiz UI running on top of Android 4.0, which Google didn't allow with their pure experience device, the Galaxy Nexus.
