Meizu MX quad-core and MX dual-core has FlymeOS firmware update

Flyme OS for Meizu MX quad-core (M032) and the new MX dual-core (M031) has been updated to the Flyme1.0.3 and now those firmware officially available for download via OTA Push update.

Based on Flyme 1.0.1 updated to 1.0.3 is targeted for optimization and upgrading of further enhance the system stability, and optimize streaming media playback system functions. And the update is available via OTA with Push mode.

Flyme for MX dual-core (M030), M9 updated version will soon be completed to optimize the update, please refer to the follow-up release of the announcement.

Note:
1) before the upgrade, please backup mobile data Flyme account Flyme 1.0.3 prohibit the use of local recovery;

2) Hong Kong, or the PCCW customized version of the MX upgrade the the Mainland MX machine firmware, may result in the application data is not compatible.

Thanks to the majority of users of the Meizu consistent concern and support, the Meizu ongoing updates and upgrades will be on Flyme to bring a better user experience.

News : Meizu MX Quad-core with Android 4.0 coming June 30th

The Meizu MX Quad-core, a more powerful version of the MX from earlier this year, has been slated for release on June 30th.The Quad-core has the 4-inch 960 x 640 display and 8-megapixel camera of the original MX, but it comes with 32 or 64GB of storage instead of 16GB and a quad-core Samsung Exynos processor that Meizu promises is 60 percent faster than that of the MX. We previously heard it would be priced at ¥2,999 ($475) and ¥3,999 ($633) for 32GB and 64GB respectively in Hong Kong, but Meizu says more updates will be forthcoming soon.
Besides the more powerful hardware, one of the selling points of the MX Quad-core is Flyme OS 1.0, a custom skin based on Android 4.0. The new version of Flyme adds a phone-finding service and cloud storage in addition to standard Ice Cream Sandwich updates. Owners of the MX and the older M9, meanwhile, will be waiting a little longer for Flyme OS 1.0. The update was originally promised in June, but it's now been pushed back until mid-July at the earliest, apparently because of software development issues.

News:Meizu App Center reaches 200 million downloads milestone

Meizu has just announced their own App Center has passed the 200 million downloads mark. This happens only three months after the 100 million milestone was reached.

The Meizu App Center is available on all the latest Meizu smartphones including the MX and MX quad-core.

Both the Meizu MX and MX quad-core are already running on Android 4.0 ICS-based operating systems, but since most of their sales are in China, they don’t have access to the Google Play Store. It seems though, that Meizu’s own store is quite attractive for the users and at least partially makes up for that.

[News]Meizu MX quad-core is now official

Meizu just announced a quad-core version of its MX smartphone, running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The handset will carry the name Meizu MX quad-core, and will bring several improvements to go with the new silicon.

The CPU of in the updated device will be a 32nm High-K Metal Gate, quad-core Samsung Exynos chip, featuring four Cortex-A9-based cores. Curiously enough, there is no info on the clock speed of the aforementioned.

The battery of the newcomer has been beefed up as well. It is now a 1700mAh unit. Also, to make the quad-core version stand out from its predecessor, there is a range of new colors for its back cover. This means that you can have your quad-core beast in five colors of your choice.

The OS on tap will be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, customized by Meizu, and carrying the name Flyme OS. The rest of the specs in of the new device are unchanged from its predecessor.

The Meizu MX quad-core will come in a 32 and 64GB versions. They will be priced in China at the highly attractive ¥2,999 (US$480) and ¥3,999 (US$635) respectively.

[ROM]Stock Android 4.0 Beta (V1037) for the Meizu MX and M9

Not too many people around these parts are familiar with the name Meizu. Despite making highly popular flagship devices for the China and Hong Kong markets, they haven’t stirred up too much commotion in other parts of the world. This is unfortunate, however, as their flagship MX and upcoming quad-core MX pack some seriously high end hardware.

Normally their devices don a heavily skinned version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread dubbed “Flyme OS.” Luckily for power users, however, this ICS beta update comes in vanilla flavor instead. Going forward, Carl Pei of Meizu (XDA Forum Member caarl) informs me that Meizu plans on releasing joint updates—one with Flyme, one without—so users can choose which they would prefer. Now wouldn’t it be nice if HTC and Samsung could follow suit with Sense and TouchWiz by making them optional?

MEIZU has today released a public beta testing version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the MEIZU MX and M9. The newly released firmware will be based on stock Android 4.0 without any customizations.

The Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade brings an entirely new look and feel to Android on MEIZU MX and M9, with a redesigned user interface as well as new design and usage concepts.

Prior to the public beta testing, MEIZU launched a private beta testing program for Android 4.0, which began mid-February for the MEIZU M9. During the private beta, users were amazed at the speed and responsiveness of the testing firmware. The newly released public beta firmware brings many bug fixes and also the support for MEIZU’s flagship device, the MX.

With the release of the public beta testing stock Android firmware, the company continues supporting the MEIZU M9, a device that has been on the market for more than a year. By doing so, MEIZU once again displays its focused commitment to the user experience and satisfaction of its many customers and fans.

The ICS beta firmware is available as of today for the MEIZU MX and M9.

Installation is a breeze. Simply copy the update.bin files to your device, turn off your device, hold down Volume UP + Power, and follow the prompts.

For this particular installation, you may have massive force close issues if you don't clear your data prior to updating. This is due to going from a heavily-skinned 2.x to a bone-stock 4.0. Just be sure to wipe data, but back everything up beforehand.
