Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S II leaks, TouchWiz included
The official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S II will not be out until later this quarter, but thanks to the guys at SamMobile, we now have the privilege of taking it for a spin. Well, kind of. What they have come across is anofficial alpha build of ICS for the Galaxy S II – a yet-unpolished ROM based on Android 4.0.3, to be precise. It is customized with the TouchWiz user interface and can be easily flashed using the ODIN software tool.

However, there are a few things that you need to know first. As the case is with alpha builds, the ROM may be too buggy to be suitable for every day use. Besides, it can be installed only on the international version of the smartphone, which means that Epic 4G Touch or Skyrocket owners should not even bother. Same goes for the other U.S. variants of the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Those of you who are interested can get the ROM from the source link below where a brief step-by-step guide to flashing it is also available. If you are new to manually installing ROMs, however, we would recommend sticking with Gingerbread for now and waiting for the official Ice Cream Sandwich update to be released.
