The HTC Accord has just leaked out and it’s a very purple, very colorful Snapdragon S4-based device running on Windows Phone 8. Now, except for the color, design and camera, there is hardly much that any company can do to differentiate in the Windows Phone area - all phones are running on Qualcomm chips with buttery smooth performance.
On the HTC Accord, it’s a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 powering a 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 screen with a sweet HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
The HTC Accord is said to come in an 8GB and a 16GB version and pack an 8-megapixel rear camera, NFC support and expandable memory via microSD cards. We can’t see a front facing camera on this press photo, though, but it could still turn out to be there. It would be a sore omission, if it’s not.
This image of the HTC Accord comes from an HTC ROM, obtained by XDA-Developers’ user Football. Interestingly, the home screen shows the typical layout for Windows Phone 7.x but not a trace of Windows Phone 8. We can confidently guess that it probably was just an earlier render, and of course, the final HTC Accord will ship with WP8 on board.
