News : LG Prada 3.0 gets Android 4.0.4 ICS update, in Italy and Germany at least

Thursday 5 July 2012

What’s a fashion phone to do when it’s getting fashionably late to the ICS party?
We don’t have to look for the answer, because LG has started to roll out the promised Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the LG P940 Prada 3.0 phone. According to the company’s international blog, the ICS upgrade is available for owners of the Prada 3.0 in Germany and Italy. Furthermore, it’s only available for unlocked phones that aren’t tied to any carrier in the respective countries. It’s possible that it will come to more countries soon.
To get the Android 4.0.4 update for your phone, you’ll have to download LG Mobile Phone support tool, which is available only for Windows. Once you’ve installed the application and the necessary USB driver for the phone, connect your Prada to the PC via USB and check for the ICS update. In no time at all, you’ll be running the not-so-latest fashionable mobile OS in town, no thanks to Jelly Bean.
Aside from ICS, you’ll also find a new QuickMemo app installed, which is a note-taking app that can be handily activated by pressing both volume buttons at the same time. You can then save and easily share the note via email or to various social networks.
If you’re not in the two countries listed above, it’s worth checking for the ICS update on LG Mobile phone support software. Remember to leave some comments if you have some good news – or not so good ones – to share.
